    Two NPELRA Members Were Among the 2007 Anthony C. Russo Scholarship Awards Winners Who Each Received a $3,000 Russo Scholarship

    Toni BrownToni Brown attends Amberton University where she is seeking a Masters of Science degree in Human Relations and Business. She is employed by the State of Texas' Parks and Wildlife Department in Austin, heading the HR Management Systems and Reporting Branch. Her undergraduate degree is in Management.Karen KingKaren King is beginning her studies for a Masters of Public Administration at Strayer University. She is the Director of Human Resources for Lawrence County, PA. She holds an undergraduate degree in HR Management and is completing a MBA (HR) this year. Upon learning of her scholarship, she joined NPELRA.
    Douglas Van BeekDouglas Van Beek is pursuing a Master's Degree in Human Resource Management from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, IA. He began his career in the public sector working for the City of Ames and is currently an HR consultant. His undergraduate degree is from William Penn University.Carmen VargasCarmen Vargas, the Human Resources Administrator of the City of Port Hueneme, CA, is working toward a Master of Public Policy degree at California Lutheran University. She holds an undergraduate degree in Organizational Management. She is a CalPELRA/NPELRA member and has worked for the city for 12 years.
